Questions and answers: Tattoo
Question: How much does a tattoo cost?
Unfortunately, there is no general answer to this question (not even over the phone). The price depends on various factors, including the design, size, amount of work, placement, your build, and whether it is freehand or based on a template. We can only give you a price once these questions have been answered.
During a no-obligation consultation at our studio, we will work with you on a rough design. You will also receive all the relevant information.
Question: What inks do you use?
Can getting a tattoo trigger an allergy?
We only use inks that have been dermatologically tested and approved in Germany. Nevertheless, an allergy can never be completely ruled out, because nothing is 100% allergy-free. If in doubt, you should always consult your dermatologist. If you have an allergy, we can call the manufacturer, who will check whether the specific substance you react to is present in the particular ink (a list of ingredients is available at the studio). Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that everything our suppliers deliver is 100% germ-free and bacteria-free. There is therefore always a possible residual risk.
Question: Does getting a tattoo hurt a lot?
Unfortunately, there is no general answer to this question either. Everyone has a different pain threshold. It also depends on how you feel that day. Have you eaten and drunk enough, and had sufficient sleep? Usually, it is not as bad as you imagine.
Question: Can I bring my own designs?
Of course you can bring your own designs. We will look at your design and decide whether it can be transferred to skin. In most cases, we can work with the designs you bring.
Question: Can I take your designs home?
All designs from our folders and books, and those drawn or created by us, stay at the studio.
Question: Can I bring someone with me when I get my tattoo?
Of course you can.
Question: Do I need an appointment for a tattoo?
We work by appointment only so that we can give you and your tattoo our full attention.
Occasionally, cancellations leave gaps in our schedule. Feel free to call and ask, and we will check whether we have any appointments available at short notice.
Question: Can my tattoo be made bigger?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. With tribal designs, it is generally not a problem. With pictures, we need to assess each case. Customers often feel their design is too small shortly afterwards, even though we pointed this out beforehand. Let us hold your chosen design against your skin in different sizes.
Question: How should I care for my new tattoo?
After your tattoo is done, we will explain the aftercare verbally. You will also receive an aftercare sheet to take home and read again.
Questions and answers: Piercing
Question: Does getting a piercing hurt?
Most piercings do not hurt. We are not permitted to administer local anaesthetic (and it is not really necessary for any piercing). For most piercing sites, a spray can effectively reduce sensitivity to pain (of course, we can also perform any requested piercing without these sprays). A few piercing sites cannot be treated with sprays as a precaution. Even then, the brief needle prick is manageable because it is over very quickly. You would probably find a local anaesthetic injection from a doctor more unpleasant. Just ask us, and we will give you an idea of whether you are likely to feel your chosen piercing or hardly notice it.
Question: Is using ice spray dangerous?
First of all, I would like to point out that at our studio we
do not use conventional ice spray, but freezing spray. We only use this spray when the piercing allows it. Nevertheless, it needs to be handled correctly, so please do not experiment yourself. I would like to point out once again that we also pierce without freezing spray, of course!
Conventional ice spray can be very dangerous for the skin. It usually causes severe burns. The skin can peel away down to the raw tissue and leave unsightly scars later on.
Question: Can I have an anaesthetic?
No, we are not permitted to administer local anaesthetic and will not do so.
Question: What piercings do you offer? How long do they take to heal?
We perform a wide range of piercings, but only those that are suitable for the customer. This depends on the customer’s anatomy and sometimes their age. We do not perform piercings through erectile tissue, piercings that will definitely grow out and leave unsightly scars, or piercings we consider dangerous.
Question: Do you offer intimate piercings?
Yes, we do. However, we do not pierce through erectile tissue. In most cases, we can perform the intimate piercing you want. Occasionally, this is unfortunately not possible for anatomical reasons.
Question: What aftercare does a piercing need?
Each customer receives individual aftercare instructions, both verbally and in writing, based on their health (for example, allergies, including allergies to medication).
Question: My piercing is inflamed. What should I do now?
First, call us and come to the studio. We will assess whether and to what extent there is inflammation, then decide which treatment will help you best. You may need to visit us at regular intervals until everything is all right with your piercing again.
Very rarely, a piercing has to be removed or grows out (but this can happen).
Question: Can I bring my own jewellery?
We only insert jewellery from other sources by prior agreement and under special conditions.
Question: What jewellery do you insert?
We have had the best experiences with titanium jewellery, PTFE and Bioplast. For this reason, we initially insert
only this jewellery.
Question: Can my piercing become inflamed?
Piercing is a minor procedure on your body. Any piercing can become inflamed. Every body can react differently to a piercing. The same applies as with tattoos: nothing is 100% allergy-free. Every customer at our studio must complete a questionnaire, which we assess before piercing. Your health determines whether we can give you a piercing or must unfortunately decline. If you then follow our aftercare instructions, the chance of inflammation is very low. We often find that aftercare has not followed our instructions, has not been completed, or has been stopped too early.
Question: Small red growths are appearing around my piercing?
One possible cause is an allergy to the piercing jewellery (in some cases, to surgical steel or other metals). In this case, customers receive titanium jewellery, PTFE or Bioplast from us and are prescribed a suitable ointment.
Sometimes customers also have keloid scarring. Unfortunately, this predisposition cannot be identified beforehand. In some cases, inserting a NO PULL Disc helps.
However, there are also cases where this does not help and the piercing has to be removed.
Question: I want a navel or nipple piercing. Do you also insert bars?
Yes, but only bars made from PTFE as the initial jewellery.
